Designated Safeguarding & Medical Welfare Officer
Job Responsibilities
- Receive, record, and investigate safeguarding and medical reports
- Take immediate action to ensure child safety and protection
- Maintain confidential safeguarding and medical records
- Lead safeguarding training and awareness for staff
- Coordinate with leadership and relevant authorities when required
- Ensure all safeguarding and medical procedures meet organizational standards
Requirements
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and medical care
- Knowledge of incident reporting and risk management
- Understanding of trauma-informed care preferred
Skills
- Strong analytical and investigative ability
- High emotional intelligence and sensitivity
- Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Safeguarding & Compliance Mandatory
- Strong commitment to child protection
- Ability to act decisively in safeguarding cases
- Must pass strict background and reference checks
- Must sign safeguarding declaration and Code of Conduct
Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred in:
- Social Work
- Psychology
- Public Health / Nursing
- Child Development
- Or any relevant field
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in:
- Medical setup / healthcare
- Safeguarding or child protection
- Social work or welfare
- Proven experience handling safeguarding cases or sensitive incidents
- Experience working with children or vulnerable groups
