Job Responsibilities

• Assist the Speech and Language Therapist in delivering speech, language, and communication activities.
• Support students with individual and small-group speech and language activities.
• Assist students in developing communication, listening, vocabulary, comprehension, and social communication skills.
• Implement therapy activities and programmes under the direction and supervision of a qualified Speech and Language Therapist.
• Prepare and organise therapy materials, worksheets, visual resources, and communication activities.
• Support students who have speech, language, communication, or learning difficulties.
• Observe and record students’ participation, responses, and progress as directed by the therapist.
• Encourage students to communicate confidently and participate actively in classroom activities.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCO, learning support staff, and parents when required.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records relating to students’ support and progress.
• Promote an inclusive, supportive, and positive learning environment.
• Follow the school’s Safeguarding, Child Protection, Health & Safety, SEN, and Behaviour Policies.
• Undertake other reasonable duties assigned by the Speech and Language Therapist, SENCO, Head of School, or School Management.
