Job Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking a licensed Master Electrician to join our team in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The ideal candidate is a skilled, reliable, and responsible professional who can work independently or as part of a team in both residential and commercial environments.

This role requires hands-on experience with electrical installations, repairs, troubleshooting, and code compliance under the Electrical Safety Authority ESA regulations. You will be responsible for ensuring safety, efficiency, and high-quality workmanship on all job sites within the local area.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and components in residential and commercial buildings.

  • Ensure all work complies with ESA codes, safety standards, and project specifications.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams.

  • Supervise or collaborate with apprentices and other electricians when required.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and functional condition.

  • Provide accurate reports on work progress, materials used, and safety inspections.

  • Follow all company safety policies and site-specific safety regulations.

Requirements

 

  • Valid Electrician’s License Master or Journeyperson certification.

  • Minimum 1 year of verifiable electrical experience in residential and/or commercial settings.

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.

  • Strong understanding of ESA code compliance and electrical safety standards.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and willing to work full-time on-site in Thunder Bay.

Education

 

  • Completion of a recognized Electrical Trade Certification Program.

  • High school diploma or equivalent additional technical training preferred.

 

Experience

 

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant electrical experience required.

  • Prior experience as a licensed electrician or in a similar role is preferred.

 

Other Details

 

  • Work Schedule: 10–12 hour shifts, Monday to Thursday Friday to Sunday off.

  • All job sites are within the immediate Thunder Bay area — no long-distance travel required.

  • Competitive hourly pay rate: $40–$60 per hour, based on experience and certification
